Camille Morin, en stage à la Réserve natu-
relle entre novembre 2015 et février 2016, ac-
complit plusieurs stages pendant l’année de
césure prévue par son école d’ingénieur en
agronomie de Bordeaux
et a contribué à traiter
et valoriser les données du suivi de l’état de santé
des récifs et des herbiers dans et en dehors de la
Réserve. Ce document, créé en 2008, répertorie
la présence de la flore et la faune marines sur les
stations étudiées - coraux, éponges, algues, gor-
gones, oursins, poissons, mollusques, herbiers...
- ainsi que leur état de santé. Ce suivi s’affine et
se renforce au fil du temps et l’on est passé de
deux à six stations au total, à l’intérieur et hors
des limites de la Réserve. La jeune étudiante a
également participé au «Reef Check», le suivi
mondial annuel des récifs coralliens, soutenu par
la Quiksilver Foundation et qui permet d’avoir une
vision internationale de leur évolution. Là encore,
trois nouvelles stations - à Caye Verte, sur le sen-
tier sous-marin de Pinel et au Rocher Créole - se
sont ajoutées à la première station, mise en place
à Saint-Martin en avril 2008 sur le spot de surf
du Galion. L’intérêt particulier de tous ces sites
est qu’ils sont gérés par La Réserve naturelle et
régulièrement fréquentés par le public.
Récifs et herbiers

Camille Morin, an intern at the Réserve Natu-
relle from November 2015 to February 2016,
is completing several projects during the
year as part of the curriculum from her agro-
nomy engineering school in Bordeaux.
She
contributed to treating and confirming data from
a scientific study of the state of health of the
reefs and herbariums, both in and outside of the
Réserve. The document, created in 2008, inven-
tories the presence of marine flora and fauna
at specific locations that were studied - coral,
sponges, algae, gorgons, sea urchins, fish, mol-
lusks, herbariums - as well as the overall state
of their health. This study has been refined over
the years, and increased from a total of two to
six stations, inside as well as outside the boun-
daries of the Réserve. The young student also
participated in «Reef Check», the annual coral
reef survey supported by the Quiksilver Foun-
dation, which provides an international vision on
their evolution. There were three new stations
as part of this survey - at Caye Verte, on the un-
derwater trail at Pinel, and at Creole Rock — in
addition to the first station established in Saint
Martin in April 2008 at the Galion surf spot.
These sites are of particular interest as they are
all managed by the Réserve Naturelle and regu-
larly visited by the public.
