46 Réserve Naturelle SAINT MARTIN éserve aturelle I I Action MS38 Participer aux réunions, maintenir et renforcer les partenariats avec les réseaux nationaux Nicolas Maslach et Julien Chalifour ont été auditionnés le 26 mai 2021 en visioconférence par le bureau d’études chargé par l’Etat de réaliser un audit du fonctionnement de l’Ifrecor (Initiative française pour le corail), tant au niveau national qu’au niveau des comités locaux. A Saint-Martin, faute de demande officiellement formulée par un élu local, la réserve naturelle est le relais technique local officieux – mais efficace – de l’Ifrecor depuis des années, en collaboration avec la DEAL. Elle représente un territoire d’expérimentation précieux pour l’Ifrecor, au travers des suivis scientifiques des fonds marins, de la production d’indicateurs sur l’état de santé des récifs et des herbiers, du tableau de bord PAMPA, sans oublier une thèse sur les herbiers locaux. Tous deux ont mis en lumière la contribution de la réserve à l’Ifrecor, mais aussi l’intérêt de cette initiative pour la réserve et pour le terri- toire. Julien Chalifour est par ailleurs également membre du comité local Ifrecor de Saint-Barthélemy. Gageons que cette contribution locale abonde à la mise en avant de l’importance du maintien de l’Ifrecor, ainsi qu’à la nécessité d’une évolution du processus de mise en place d’un comité local. Ifrecor et la Réserve naturelle Le comité national Ifrecor s’est tenu à Saint-Martin en 2019 - The national Ifrecor committee met in Saint Martin in 2019 Action MS38 Participate in meetings, maintain, and reinforce partnerships with regional networks Nicolas Maslach and Julien Chalifour were interviewed via video conference on May 26, 2021 by a consulting firm hired by the French government to do an audit on the functioning of Ifrecor (French Initiative For Coral Reefs), on a national as well as a local level. In Saint Martin, as there has not been a formal request made by the Collec- tivité, La Réserve Naturelle has been the official local — and efficient — representative of Ifrecor for many years, in collaboration with the DEAL. It represents an invaluable testing site for Ifrecor, by way of scientific studies of un- derwater milieus, performance indicators on the state of the health of reefs and underwater plant beds, the PAMPA dashboard, and not forgetting a thesis on local seagrass beds. Maslach and Chalifour accented the contribution of La Réserve to Ifrecor, as well as the importance of this initiative for La Réserve and for the entire island. Julien Chalifour is also a member of the local Ifrecor committee in Saint Barthélemy. This local participation accents the importance of sup- porting Ifrecor, as well as an evolution in the process of creating a local committee.
