17 Réserve Naturelle SAINT MARTIN éserve aturelle I I Action CS4 Suivi de l’ichtyofaune (priorité 1) Le début de l’année 2021 a vu la poursuite du programme Life Bio- div’Om, avec la relance des pêches nocturnes, pendant la période de nouvelle lune des mois de février, mars, avril et mai, et l’échan- tillonage des post-larves, au moment de la colonisation des petits fonds côtiers. Les mauvaises conditions météo n’ont pas permis les sorties en mer toutes les nuits, empêchant la pose des pièges lumineux destinés à attirer les alevins. Les résultats de ces pêches exploratoires se sont toutefois avérés très satisfaisants, même si une seule espèce de mérou a pu être identifiée. Les prochaines pêches sont programmées en août, septembre et octobre 2021. Il s’agira pour vous de sortir en mer avec Aude et deux autres bénévoles quelques soirs pendant la nouvelle lune afin de poser les pièges puis de les récupérer au lever du soleil. L’identification des alevins intervient alors : seuls les alevins non identifiés sont placés en aquarium, les autres poissons étant immédiatement relâchés en mer. Aude Berger remercie très sincèrement les bénévoles pour leur fidélité, lamission enmer ne pouvant pas avoir lieu sans eux. Elle leur donne rendez-vous en août, septembre et octobre prochain. Action CS4 Monitoring Of Fish (priority 1) In early 2021 the Life Biodiv’Om project went on with the relaunch of nocturnal fishing, during the period of the new moon in the months of February, March, April, and May, and taking samples of post-larvae, at the moment they colonize shallow coastal waters. Bad weather conditions prohibited night excursions at sea, making it impossible to place the luminous traps meant to attract the alevins. The results of this exploratory fishing are considered satisfying, even if the grouper was the only species to be identified. The next night fishing excursions are planned for August, September, and October 2021. You would go out to sea with Aude and two other volunteers for a few evenings, around the date of the newmoon, to place the traps, then go back to get them at dawn. The identification of the alevins comes next: only those non-identified young fish are placed in an aquarium, the other fish are immediately released back into the sea. Aude Berger sincerely thanks the volunteers for their support as these missions at sea would not be possible with- out them.
