24 L’impact du cyclone Irma sur l’environnement a incité l’Agence française de la biodiversité à lancer un appel à projets pour la reconquête de la biodiversité dans tout l’outremer. La Ré- serve a bien sûr répondu à cet appel en constit- uant trois dossiers. L’un de ces projets, d’ores et déjà accepté, vise à financer la réalisation d’une mission scientifique d’inventaire de l’impact d’Irma sur la flore des îlets classés en Réserve naturelle - soit Pinel, Petite Clé, Caye Verte et Tintamare - l’objectif étant de proposer des actions de restauration des espèces et des habitats qu’elles constituent. Un second projet, en cours de validation, concerne les actions en faveur de la conservation des tortues marines et leur protection. Il s’agira de continuer le suivi scientifique pendant la saison de ponte, mais aussi de développer le réseau échouages, de réhabiliter les habitats essentiels que sont les plages de ponte et les zones d’alimentation et de renforcer les actions de sensibilisation du public. Un troisième dossier a été déposé par Vincent Oliva, afin de financer l’acquisition de matériel de sensibilisation, qui pourra être uti- lisé dans les établissements scolaires. The Réserve responded to this call by submitting three dossiers. One of these projects, which has already been accepted, aims to finance the re- alization of a scientific inventory of the imparct of Irma on the flora on the small islands within the Réserve Naturelle—Pinel, Petite Clé, Caye Verte, and Tintamare—and the goal is to pro- pose projects to restore the species and their habitants. A second project, not yet validated, concerns activities for the conservation of sea turtles and their protection. The objective it to continue the scientific study during the egg-lay- ing season, as well as to develop the networks for marine mammals, to rehabilitate their es- sential habitats, which are the beaches where they lay eggs and the zones where they feed, and to reinforce public awareness programs.
